Safety

At Howard S. Wright Construction Co., performing work safely is a state of mind and a way of life. We are committed to building a culture of safety where everyone takes ownership of the safety for the job sites and participates as an integral safety team member.

Our successful Safety and Health Program is a result of committed participation from labor, subcontractors/suppliers, owner/client representatives and partnership focused on safe production. Our goal is to work with owners who share our commitment to providing the safest and healthiest work environment possible for our workers.

Safety objectives include:

- Promoting the safety and well-being of each employee and his/her family
- Eliminating personal injury based on the belief that "injury free" projects can occur
- Encouraging recommendations for improvements to safety throughout the company
- Establishing individual responsibility for the safety program on each project

Our construction managers and superintendents are the leaders of our safety team and are responsible for accident prevention and reduction of on-the-job injuries. We believe that success in accident reduction lies in planning ahead. With the assistance of our Regional Safety Managers, each project team develops a site specific Safety and Health Plan and Phased Safety Plan to be used in crew training, team building and the promotion of a culture of safety.

At Howard S. Wright Construction Co., we make every effort to cultivate a positive safety attitude at every level. The personal protective devices we provide our workers to use exceed regulatory standards. Examples of these devices are: class III full-body harness with double-locking shock-absorbing lanyard, mandatory safety glasses, and double eye protection when chipping or grinding.
