Howard S. Wright Construction Co. is currently working on the large, phased remodel of the patient tower at St. John Medical Center. The remodel will include seismic and infrastructure upgrades; electrical, mechanical, HVAC and life safety system upgrades; ADA upgrades; and renovation of all patient rooms and public areas. On the first floor we will remodel the emergency department.  This involves relocating the medical library, adding an observation area, doctor’s lounge and four nursing support offices. In this first phase we will add a new emergency entry and rework the parking lot and exterior signage. In the following phases we will remodel each floor of patient rooms including the birthing center, telemetry unit, ICU/CCU unit, medical/surgical units, psychiatric unit, and MRI and radiology. We will also upgrade the elevators, nurse call/equipment tracking systems, long term file storage, and cart washing areas. A new kitchen and additional public space will also be added.
